Here is our Work In Progress for a new book possibly to be called Family Rides in South East Queensland.

These rides are suitable for families and cycling novices. Almost any bicycle is suitable for these rides except skinny slicks on the wetter or gravel trails. Most of these rides are designed specifically for recreational cycling.

Our criteria for selecting rides are:

• Well formed dedicated bike path, usually concrete or bitumen and reasonably wide, with no steps.
• Generally flat, not physically challenging.
• Attractive environment, path travels through reserve or alongside a river, lake or beach.
• Good resources - shelter, drinking water, ice cream.
• Few road crossings, no riding on the road, little riding alongside roads.

These are draft maps of new areas which have not necessarily been groundtruthed by us or vetted by land managers. Please do not rely upon these maps. We welcome feedback.

The maps are similar to those in the MTB book. However they have a different purpose and they are generally at 1:10,000 scale because they require far more detail, so we have made a few changes to their appearance and content.
